Hi, I'm Sam. I'm a father, husband, entrepreneur, and problem solver at heart. I bring over 13 years of experience working in accounting, tax preparation, and bookkeeping. After graduating with a B.S. in business management from Menlo College, I started Dorrance Financial to help small and medium sized businesses with their bookkeeping and tax needs.
Over the years, some of my client partnerships have grown into full time employment positions; I have served as controller and VP of finance for private sector corporations with $40+ million in annual gross revenues. I am proud to have played a role in helping those clients navigate & scale through exponential growth, creating lasting relationships in the process.
After several years of preparing tax returns for sole proprietors, LLCs and Corporations, I decided to shift my focus exclusively to providing bookkeeping services for business owners like you. Truth be told, I enjoy the hands on nature of bookkeeping much more than preparing tax returns, but my tax experience allows me to bring an intimate understanding of the tax implications of your transactions. I take a plan-ahead approach to reduce your tax burden and keep you out of trouble with the IRS & state.
Lastly, I strongly believe in keeping things simple. I am the business owner, I answer the phone, I respond directly to your emails, and I do all of the bookkeeping. No need for gimmicks or unnecessary bells & whistles, just straightforward services to get your books under control and free up your time.
